A Beachy Day.

Today I went on a big adventure to the beach!

There is a nice stretch of beach right in between Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach that is very nice to hang out on. There is lots of sand.

At the edge of the sand there is a bike and walking path that goes from way down by LAX all the way up to Will Rogers State Beach.

It’s a very scenic walk and it’s especially great when it’s not too busy, like today. In the summer it gets very busy.

Today it was still   hot so I stayed on the cool grass under the trees that run along the bike path. In the winter I get to walk along the path. Unfortunately this is a humans only beach “NO DOGS ALLOWED” which really is a shame. With all the miles of beach here it wouldn’t hurt to give us dogs a small slice to have to ourselves so we could frolic in the ocean on hot days. I guess I have to be content to smell the ocean from afar.

After all that people watching we headed up to the 3rd Street Promenade and the humans got some iced coffee and I had some water  at Infuzion Cafe. They have great coffee (so the humans say) and they are very dog friendly. They even give you cookies!

  1. I went to Leo Carillo Beach (CA) today…I was looking for you! I think it is the only dog-friendly Beach around L.A. I loved the scents and seeing all the dogs. I’m a little afraid of the waves. You’re my hero and inspire my humans. We all love your amazing photos and blogs. You’re so cute!

    Hi Bear,

I hope you had a good time at Leo Carillo, I love it there! Huntington Beach and Long Beach have off leash dog beaches too but there aren’t many other beaches for dogs in the LA area. I’m glad you enjoy the blog!

  2. Hi Spencer, Good that you get to walk by the beach. We don’t have beaches in WI :( And we miss going to the beach – we used to go there quite a bit when we were in CA. Wish they allowed you on the beach though, I mean aren’t there special privileges for therapy dogs?

  3. I agree, I don’t understand why dogs arn’t allowed. I took my dog for a walk on the beach a few years ago and was surprised that she wasn’t allowed! I mean, when I was a kid dogs were allowed on the beach, if responsible owners pick-up after them I don’t see why then can’t join in the fun. Oh well…it looks like Spencer had fun anyway.

  4. Hi, Spencer.
Those pictures of the beach are great! Glad you had the chance to go there! No dogs allowed?? I know a bad word for that!
Iced coffee?? My mom says that sounds delicious!
    Have a good night
