The Red Head.

Chloe has settled in a bit and showing her true colors….RED! She’s a beautiful red head.

She likes to give kisses and is slobbering all over me all the time. First thing this morning, I’m laying in bed   minding my own business trying to sleep when…slurp! I like to cuddle instead so I’m showing her how that works…it’s not going so well, BOL!

My  human mom was trying to take a nice portrait of me when…

… Chloe moves in to squish me. Sheesh! Camera hog!

She does have good roaching technique if I do say so myself.

All that activity makes her a hungry girl. Now I have to share my grilled checken with her. It’s ok though…I know there’s lots more to go around.

  1. Awww…what a beautiful girl! Mackenzie seems to go from dark blonde to brown to red…I’m secretly hoping she goes red! Shhh…don’t tell. :)

  2. Hey Spencer,
Nice looking red head you got there. I wouldn’t mind meeting someone as beautiful as Chloe but it’s a long trek from Bumpass, VA to LA. I like red heads but most all the girls here are golden haired (Abby & Shelby), Shiloh has some kind of a contrast hair job going on; I think she’s going for that Holstein look…..Mooooooooo. Red heads are usually fiesty and like to play; my kind of woman. Drop me line sometime; http://bumpasshounds.blogspot.com

  3. Hi ya Spencer,
Me and my sister Shiloh are 11 months old. We’re going to Disney World for a week in May ’cause we’re to big, and oafish (funny dad) to stay with oursitter. My dad booked us into a nice hotel in Kissemee. We live with 6 other dogs and 3 cats, five of them are Golden retrievers like you. Homer is 10 years old; he’s red Golden who came to live with us in November. He’s was living at Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Santuary in West Virginia (http://www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org/) but he wanted a forever home so he came to live with us. Jubal is 8 (a blonde) and JEB is 7 (golden). They are also Golden Retrievers like you; so are Shelby, 4 years old, and Jack, 3 years old. Abby is a 2 year old Yellow Lab. She also came here from A.H.G.R.R. Boru and Alex are Maine Coon cats, they’re always hanging in the house and like to box with us Landseer dogs; we find cats to be VERY interesting. Boru thinks he’s a Golden Retriever, he’s big enough, and he’s always hanging with them. Jenny is a sweet little tortie girl cat but she doesn’t like to play with me and Shiloh. I usually don’t get to go on sleepovers. When mom and dad have to leave us we always stayed home and Mary would pet sit us. My only previous sleepover was at Doc’s hospital and it wasn’t really very pleasant, but Doc did say that my bark would probably have a higher pitch. I gotta go now. Dad is yelling at me to get away from the computer and get my butt outside with the rest of the pack. Talk to you again.

    Hi Max & Shilo,

Nice to meet you! It’s Great work you guys do! We golden oldies deserve to live out our days in comfort. I was adopted when I was 8 1/2 and am loving it everyday.

  4. Hi ya Spencer,
Me and my sister Shiloh are 11 months old today. We’re going to Disney World for a week in May ’cause we’re too big, and “oafish” (funny dad) to stay here with our pet sitter lady, Mary. My dad booked Shiloh and me into a nice pet hotel in Kissemee. We live with 6 other dogs and 3 cats in Bumpass, VA, so we’re really the “Bumpass hounds” like in that Christmas Story movie. Five of the other dogs are Golden Retrievers like you. Homer is 10 years old; (a red) who came to live with us in November. He’s was living at Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Santuary in West Virginia (http://www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org/) but he wanted a forever home so he came to live with us. Jubal is 8 (a blonde) and JEB is 7 (a gold), Shelby is 4 years old (a gold), and Jack is 3 years old (a gold). Abby is a 2 year old Yellow Labrador/Golden Retriever mix (Labragolden?).
Jenny is a sweet little tortie girl cat. She came from Wendy’s Feline Friends rescue (http://www.wendysfelinefriends.org/). She doesn’t like me or Shiloh but she gets along OK with the other dogs. My Mom & Dad said that it’s important to be responsible pet custodians and to help places like AHGRR and Wendy’s. You wouldn’t believe the stories that Homer and Abby have heard at AHGRR about being abandoned and almost getting the green needle (I don’t know what that is exactly but it doesn’t sound nice) and other bad stuff.
Whenever mom and dad went away we always stayed here and Mary came to help take care of the things we find hard to do ourselves; getting food, etc. So we haven’t had many sllepovers before. As a matter of fact, my only previous sleepover was at Doc’s hospital (http://www.confederateridgeanimalhospital.com/) and it wasn’t very pleasant. Doc said that my bark would probably have a higher pitch now. I should tell you about the night I got out of my crate and had the garage all to myself. Shiloh and I have an apartment in the garage. The other guys all stay in the “MBR” at night. Me and Shiloh did for a while but we liked to wrestle at night and we kinda got BIG and bumped into a lot of stuff so we wanted our own pad. I gotta go. Dad is yelling at me to get away from the computer and get my butt outside with the rest of the pack. Talk to you again.

  5. Hi, Spencer!
Looks like Chloe is happy there with you and your family! And that makes me happy too!
    Happy Easter!
    Kisses and hugs

  6. Hi Spencer! It’s me Ginger!

Thanks for stopping by my blog – it’s a pleasure to meet a fellow tennis ball nut. I loved reading about your expperience with other Goldens. What an important job you have, must be exhausting! Can you get two tennis balls in your mouth at the same time? It tried a few times but it’s hard to breath.

    Nubbin wags,
    Ginger

    Hi Ginger,

Nice to meet you too! I can actually put 3 tennis balls in my mouth at one time and I love to carry them around like that!

    wags,
    Spencer
