Kona’s Arizona Adventure-Part 3

After a chilly but snug night camping we woke to find our tent with a coating of snow.

After a quick breakfast and packing up it was time to hike. Our destination was the Red Rock District in Coconino National Forest just north of Sedona. This area has beautiful red rock formations along Oak Creek Canyon.

The boys at the trail-head.

Looking toward Sedona and out over Oak Creek Canyon. The clouds looked ominous but cleared up later in the day.

The fall foliage in the canyon was spectacular set amongst the red rocks.

Kona’s retriever instinct kicks in as he points to a ground squirrel.

After a good hike and lunch in Sedona we hit the road to Tucson. Kona takes in the sights as we go.

The boys relax in the hotel for the night after a long day.

  1. Oh Kona! Your coat looks so gorgeous against that red rock and clay! You must have had the best time in all those beautiful places!

  2. Looks like a fantastic trip!!!!! Great shots! Sometimes trying to find Kona is like finding Waldo, he matches the Canyon.

  3. Fantastic photos! It looks like everybody had a great time. We love camping and hiking ourselves, and it’s a joy for us to be able to share that with our Husky — never with scenery quite so remarkable, though!
