7/52 : Kona – For Spencer

It was 2 years ago today we lost our Spencer. He still makes me smile everyday, especially when I remember how he would pick up 3 tennis balls at the same time and “talk” to me. Kona can only do one tennis ball at a time but it makes him happy to have many. I know Spencer would approve:)

  1. It doesn’t seem possible that 2 years have gone by. We always read Spencer’s adventures every day. Grandma Golden left us just last week but I know she is with Spencer playing with their favorite tennis balls somewhere.

  2. Wow – where does the time go? Still makes me teary just thinking of him but so nice to see his smiling face full of tennis balls! Here’s hoping he has endless tennis balls over the Bridge. Miss you my cyber friend!

  3. I’ve always heard the best place to burry a dog is in your heart. It’s been over ten years since I lost my Daisy, and when I think about her all the memories come rushing back and I can’t help but smile. I wish we could have known Spencer.

  5. The Mighty Spencer,
He got us into blogging and he, along with Kona, are daily reminders of all that a rescue dog can be when the right people let a dog unpack his bags and find themselves.

  6. God love Spencer, we all sure miss him. Kona has big paws to fill and he seems to be stepping up. Sending
thoughts of happy memories to you guys.

  8. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been two years!!! I remember a workman coming to my home that morning and I had just read the horrible news, and I opened the door and just started sobbing! I was amazed at how much you could love a dog that you had never ever met!!! We miss you Spencer, so much!!! There will never be another like you! Kona is doing a great job taking care of your humans! I know you’re proud!

  9. I miss him too. He was one of my all time favorite rescue dogs. He was special….and everything that a golden retriever should be.

  10. Ahh, Spencer, one of the cutest Goldens ever. He is the reason we blog, a member of a quilting group I read and Golden lover posted a link to his blog, and I fell in love. I cried when I found out he had died. What a wonderful tribute photo from Kona.
