Last night we took a trip to the Los Angeles Farmers Market. This is the original farmers market and a few years ago it was revamped and they put a very nice outdoor mall called the Grove next door to it. There are lots of great places to eat plus all the typical market grocery stands as well as lots of nifty little shops. I like how they stack all the fruit so neatly.
We had dinner on the patio of one of the many restaurants. I got to sample grilled halibut and some chicken.
We finally headed over to our final destination…Three Dog Bakery, to pick up some treats for me. I got some heart cookies dipped in carob (like chocolate but it’s not chocolate, because chocolate is very BAD for dogs.) and some kitty cookies. I also got a bandana with bones all over it.
I got some samples but I had to wait until we got home to eat my cookies. First I tried on my new bandana and the humans had to take pictures. I said “No pictures! Just give me cookies please!”
They were very tasty. Here’s a picture of a kitty cookie with a missing eye (I ate it) just before I crunched him up.
After all that excitement I was one pretty contented dog.
Farmers markets are easy to start and local people love them. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I love those itty bitty kitties! That looks like a great place to visit. Lucky your Mum and Dad have such great places to take you. We are not allowed at our farmers market anymore, sniff, sniff!

Those Scary Kitty’s you have are a hit with my dog too. I love Three Dog Bakery over at the Grove, and it’s good to hear that the area is dog friendly.

Gee, Spencer – Yellow is definately very fetching on you! How very handsome! & that must have been agonizing being at a doggie bakery & having to wait till you get home to eat your treats! Next time, just grab the bag & chow down!

You look handsome with your new bandana! I think the best part of the trip was to go to get your treats! The kitty cookie is for kitties or just is the shape? If you are like me you can eat everything… for dogs or not!
