Sky & Jake

Sky & Jake are a good example of the different shades Golden Retrievers come in. We’ve had reds and golds and they are both very pretty or handsome in the case of these 2 fellows. Sky is trying to entice Jake to play but they have very different styles of playing. Sky likes to wrestle with a little mouth action thrown in for good measure. It looks ferocious but it’s actually not. My arm has held up to a good mouthing unscarred. Jake likes to run and chase and then like a football player, body slam into you. Jake can jump really high. Today his favorite activity was to run and jump trying to bite a spray of water from the hose. I think he got at least 6 feet in the air on some of his jumps

After the hose game, Jake thought it would be really fun to run around with a flip-flop in his mouth. Typical Golden shot here.

Jake had a stare-down with a squirrel. He reminds me a lot of Raja with his focus.

Meanwhile, Sky was amusing himself roaching in the grass.

Rumor has it that Sky has found his forever home. We’ll have more details later this week. We’ve got our fingers crossed for Sky.

  1. Love the boys and it looks like they had such fun playing together! I also love the contrast of their different coloring. Wonderful shots of the boys!
    Hugs to you all,

  2. I love to jump up and bite the hose water! There’s nothing more fun! Sounds like great news for Sky. And I agree with Pipa – you take the BEST pictures of any dog blog on the internet.

    See ya!

  3. I do hope Sky has a forever home and Jake is just so handsome too. Good luck with the boys. =)

  4. Greetings! Wow, these are wonderful and amazing photos. What lucky goldens to have a loving place and fun area to play in. Sounds like forever homes are working out as well!
We wanted to stop by….and had seen Spencer’s site just when we were joining blogspot. We are now facing our Honey’s (13 yo) fight with cancer, and taking it day by day. She has had an adventurous and full life with us. And, we enjoy the company of all the fuzzy pals we have made through the blogs.
Take good care, and have lots of furry fun!

  5. :) great photos!
like I said before, here in Portugal we don’t have many red goldens, wich is a shame because they’re beautiful!

Even between goldens, you can’t find two dogs that behave the same way. Each of them has his personality!

I’m a wrestler too! :) That’s my favorite game with other doggies, but I also love to hunt birds (only caught one that was already injured, and Sara almost freaked out bol!!)

    lot’s of licks!!

PS – That’s great news for you sky!!! we will keep our paws crossed!

  6. yours are some of the best and most expressive (and impressive) shots of golden’s I’ve ever seen. You should have a blog just to tell the world the way you can capture their looks and feelings and inner nature.

    Congratulations.

Paws crossed for the Sky! :)

    Love

    Pipa
