Kona-Before & After

It is 7 months today since Kona came to us as a foster dog. He quickly became a big part of our family and his transformation has been a joy to watch.

This is Kona today…

This was Kona the day he came to us…

He was terrified of people (men especially), he had no confidence and would cower, freeze and drool from stress. He had very little muscle tone, particulary in his hind quarters, which made him hop rather than run normally.

With lots of love, patience, exercise and quality food, Kona has blossomed into an awesome Golden Retriever. He is still working everyday to  make up for experiences he never had a crucial times in his life but he is a good example of what a rescue dog can become. Today Kona is happy, playful, cuddly and fun.

It has been a fantastic learning experience for us and we hope others would consider rescung a dog in need of love…it will change the dog’s life as well as yours.

  1. that is jus awesome.
and we totally know what you mean, cos we have people commenting that Eski is like a different dog now.

unfortunately, she is still very, very fearful of the rain & thunder/lightning..

  2. 15 paw salute and lots of leaky eyes. Hardly recognized Kona in the first pic – alert, upright and confident.
    Thank you for loving Kona.

  3. Keep spreading the word — I actually think the ‘rescue’ transformation is starting to happen in a big way . Its the least we can do, but it really can help. I am no longer shy about telling someone to adopt, not buy.

Such powerful photos. Good job !

  4. Oh wow. The difference between those two pictures is unbelievable. Kona is one lucky little guy. God bless him…and you to for giving him the home and love he deserves. What a beautiful boy!

  5. Thank you so much Michelle, for being such a wonderful human being. The same goes to your husband.

  7. What a difference a home makes!

Seeing transformations as you describe in Kona is what keeps us working hard in rescue. From sad to happy is often just a few head pats and encouraging words of praise.

So many dogs, so few homes. Keep up the good work
